


The guy who sold it to me told me he had the originals somewhere, but he'd replaced them with an $8.00 set of speed knobs because the originals looked like "skateboard wheels." He got a little snarky about my taste levels when I insisted that the original knobs made a serious difference in the amount I was willing to pay for the guitar, until I showed him that the originals (at that time) were going for $45 *each* on eBay, and they were damned hard to find. Funny story about that I have an '82 Ibanez Artist AR300, which came new with the original Suregrips (rubber band style). the original Suregrips have what amounts to a tire tread rubber band around the knob, and a lot of them over the years have rotted and come off.
